The Democratic Steering and Policy Committee (Senior Democrat Leaders) voted 25-22 to endorse Waxman over the incumbent Dingell for the Chairmanship of Energy and Commerece. On Thursday the vote goes to the full Democratic House Caucus.
As we have discussed before a Waxman chairmanship would mean a dramatic shift in the ideological direction of the committee. Energy and Commerece is where the the Healthcare Reform bill will be moving through.
