Health Care Reform: Senate Finance Publishes Transcripts of Roundtable on Health Care Reform

Recently, the Senate Finance Committee published its “Roundtable Discussion on Comprehensive Health Care Reform.” The hearings, which were held on April 21, May 5, and May 12, 2009, were supposed to lead the Finance Committee into creating a health care reform bill by the July 4th recess. Now, with the shadow of a Supreme Court Nomination, and the Energy Bill, meeting an August Recess deadline is also looking gloomy.

The hearings were organized into three separate discussions: Financing Comprehensive Health Care Reform; Expanding Health Care Coverage; Reforming America’s Health Care Delivery System.

The release of these hearings by the Finance Committee reveal its willingness to let the public review the same resources and research provided in the consideration of meaningful health care reform.

Hopefully, many Americans will read closely the testimony and questioning from these discussions to determine what action Congress should take, and if America is ready for government controlled health care.
