With less than 90 days away from the beginning of payment reporting under the Physician Payment Sunshine Act (see our counter to the right), stakeholders are gearing up for training, education, compliance and implementation.
The Washington Legal Foundation (WLF) is hosting a Web Seminar on May 14, 2013, from 12:30 – 1:30pm. The WLF has been at the forefront of keeping government regulations in check.
The presenters include James C. Stansel and Meenakshi Datta, both partners at Sidley Austin LLP.
This interactive program will examine the recently issued final rules implementing the Physician Payment Sunshine Act. The speakers will assess
- Strategies “applicable manufacturers” can use to successfully pursue compliance;
- How the rules interrelate with similar requirements at the state level; and
- Whether increased reporting will impact pharmaceutical and medical device research and development.

In addition to this program, the International Medical Meeting Professionals Association (IMMPA) is hosted its annual conference on May 21st-22nd 2013.
Thomas Sullivan, author and editor of the blog will be presenting about the implications of the Sunshine Act for medical meetings around the world on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
Finally, AdvaMed annoucned a workshop on June 11, 2013, at AdvaMed Headquarters in Washington, DC, on how the Sunshne Act will affect medical technology manufacturers.
