Don’t Get Burned by Sunshine

The first year of reporting obligations for the Physician Payments Sunshine Act is coming to a close on June 30, 2014, when companies must submit detailed 2013 data regarding their interactions with healthcare providers to CMS. However, the rigors of the Sunshine Act do not end there. Pharmaceutical and device manufacturers are required to track their spend data year round. Furthermore, starting in July of this year, companies will be responsible for handling disputes with healthcare professionals. In September, these reports will be published on a searchable public website.
In order to navigate the latest obligations under the Sunshine Act, we invite you to attend an informative webinar entitled Don’t Get Burned By Sunshine: The Latest on the Physician Payments Sunshine Act. The speakers will tackle specific areas of concern, such as dealing with disputes from physicians who don’t want to be reported, promotion related to off-label uses of pharmaceutical products, implications for kickbacks and false claims, and potential inappropriate relationships with academic medical centers or teaching hospitals.  This presentation will also address the potential for the use of the database by the media and the government.
