The Summit on Controlled Substances – Regulation, Litigation, and Enforcement

The American Conference Institute is proud to host the inaugural Summit on Controlled Substances – Regulation, Litigation, and Enforcement, on January 29-31, 2018 in Washington, DC. This event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gather with stakeholders from every link in the supply chain to discuss the most pressing issues surroundings the controlled substances industry, most prominently the opioid overdose crisis.

Federal and state authorities continue to go after opioid manufacturers, distributors, pharmacies, pharmacists, physicians, nurses— anyone and everyone who has a hand in the chain of custody for these controlled substances.

In response to this most difficult and challenging landscape, this conference provides a forum for stakeholders to discuss current challenges, benchmark strategies, and join together to best prepare for the future of this critical and fast-paced industry. Highlights of this year’s event include:

  • Reassessing your Responsibilities in Light of the Changing Scope of Suspicious Order Monitoring Requirements
  • Evolution of Abuse-Deterrent Opioid Drug Products
  • Understanding and Comparing State Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs
  • Diving into the State, County, and City Opioid-Related Investigations

Attendees will hear from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), State Attorney Generals, U.S. Attorneys, over a dozen manufacturers, distributors, top law firm leaders, and more.

The program faculty includes representatives from Center for Lawful Access and Abuse Deterrence, Daiichi Sankyo, Inc., Eisai, Inc., Independent Pharmacy Cooperative, Miami Luken, Purdue Pharma L.P., Stericycle Inc., Teva Pharmaceuticals, and more.
