CME Coalition Presents MACRA Improvement at CMEPalooza

On Wednesday, October 17th at 9:00am ET, the Academy for Continued Healthcare Learning (ACHL) will present CME and MACRA: The Impact for Providers at CMEPalooza.

Perhaps you’ve been hearing some noise about the ways that the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) may impact your role as a CME provider this past year without really understanding what the discussion is all about. The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), for example, recently released new guidance related to MACRA, but few people have a good grasp how it applies to individual providers.

In this breakfast session sponsored by ACHL, two industry experts, Thomas Sullivan, the President of Rockpointe Corporation and the Editor of Policy & Medicine, as well as Andrew Rosenberg, JD, a Senior Advisor of the CME Coalition, will come to the rescue, sharing their insights and providing practical guidance on how to design and allow physicians to get credit from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for certain CME activities.

Sullivan and Rosenberg are expected to provide a general MACRA overview, discussing the difference between Alternative Payment Models (APMs) and the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), as well as the 2018 rules compared to the 2019 rules. They will also discuss CMS improvement activities and CME, including a detailed CMS description and how CMS expects the plan to work, compared to CME requirements.

The panel will end with a question and answer session. Sessions are also expected to be broadcast live here and available for viewing shortly after their conclusion here.
