CME Webinars to Help Guide Clinicians Managing Diabetes Patients During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Multiple studies have shown that patients with diabetes are at increased risk of developing COVID-19 and suffering severe symptoms. As knowledge about the pathophysiology of COVID-19 continues to evolve, recent figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that 13 percent of the adult U.S. population has diabetes — 34 million Americans who face a greater risk of both acquiring COVID-19 and requiring hospitalization to treat serious complications. To help clinicians remain current and manage their patients with diabetes during the pandemic, Rockpointe, a leading continuing medical education provider, along with a collaboration of 20 state medical societies and the Potomac Center for Medical Education offer the latest guidance during three live CME/CE-certified, MOC-eligible webinars (Nov. 2, Nov. 10, and Dec. 2).

Diabetes and COVID-19 in the Outpatient Setting: What Clinicians Need to Know is an hour-long program geared toward clinicians responsible for the daily management of patients with diabetes. Participants will receive the most up-to-date information to help them appropriately advise their patients on how to avoid infection, monitor patients who develop COVID-19, and recognize and manage complications as they occur to minimize morbidity and mortality. Faculty will discuss the pathophysiology of COVID-19 and factors that increase risks for patients with diabetes, then turn to strategies for managing diabetes patients during the pandemic, followed by a Q&A session.
