ACCME 2021 Meeting – Call for Proposals

The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) has opened the Call for Proposals for its 2021 Meeting, which will be held virtually April 27 – 29, 2021. There are several different options available, and if you are interested, you can submit multiple proposals for any singular option and/or across multiple option types.

Option 1 – Inspire and Teach!

Under this option, you will share your experience and expertise as an educational leader. ACCME asks that you submit your proposal for an educational session to help improve the skills and performance of your colleagues. Proposals accepted under this option will be featured as breakout sessions on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, and an archived recording will be made available on the annual meeting’s virtual platform for registrants to access until June 30, 2021.

Option 2 – CME Effectiveness and Best Practices

Under this option, feel free to submit your research project to foster collaboration with colleagues as attendees work together to pursue critical questions about how to improve CME. Selected submissions under this option will create a research poster that outlines and details their research project and will also record a 2-3 minute lightning talk that summarizes the project. Both the poster and talk will be shared on the annual meeting’s virtual platform beginning two weeks prior to the meeting and will remain up through June 30, 2021.

The research team from each selected submission will also participate in a live Q&A session on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 to answer questions from participants about their research project.

Option 3 – Working Groups

Under this option, you can propose a Working Group to address a need you have identified. Working Groups will meet virtually for up to 90 minutes on a weekly basis for the four weeks leading up to the meeting and collaborate in the production of a tool or resource that ACCME will help disseminate to the entire CME community.

Proposals accepted under this option will be featured during meeting registration in January 2021, where registrants will have the opportunity to join each group, with an additional registration fee. ACCME senior staff will help individual Working Group leaders throughout the process, including a convening platform and other support.

Each Working Group will present a summary of its project during the Closing Plenary Session on Thursday, April 29, 2021.
