Tom will be presenting two topics:

On Monday December 14th

Discuss Conflict of Interests, IOM, CEJA and New ACCME Regulations
Recent reports and criticism surround the debate on how commercial support for CME affects conflict of interest and bias. Mounting criticism has impacted accredited CME causing fundamental changes within institutions, societies, funders and healthcare organizations and the need to address conflict of interest and control bias. The CME community is seeing a shift towards greater transparency. During this session, hear updates on recent reports (IOM, CEJA, etc.) and new ACCME regulations dealing with these issues. How will they impact the way industry continues to review and analyze medical education programs for grants?

  • Examine recent reports and regulations
  • Discuss the impact on authors and program content
  • Review how institutions have shifted their policies
  • Look at how providers are adapting to these changes
